AWARENESS LEVEL COURSE
The course is structured to educate those who are not usual members of a branch of emergency services, such as veterinarians, large animal facility operators, animal rescue organizations, large animal transporters, and large animal owners. Individuals who attend the Awareness Level Course as a participant will receive a TLAER, Inc. Awareness Level Certification.
$150 – August 29-31, includes the Awareness portion of the training and audit of the Operational portion. Lunch included all 3 day.
$75 – Single day rate for any portion of the training (audit the Operational portion). Includes lunch.
OPERATIONAL LEVEL COURSE
This training level course is intended for first responders and veterinarians. These participants will have hands-on training with the equipment and receive a text book and final certification.
This training involves the practical considerations, behavioral understanding, specialty equipment, tactics, techniques, and methodologies behind the safe extrication of a live large animal from entrapments (trailer wrecks, ditches, mud, water, barn fires) in local emergencies and disaster areas. It is recommended that Individuals taking this course have previously taken online ICS training (see below), and sign a waiver. Individuals who attend the OPERATIONS Level Course as a Participant will receive TLAER, Inc. Operations Level Certification. RACE approval pending for Veterinarians and Technicians.
$400 – August 29-31, includes both the Awareness portion of the training (a prerequisite for the Operational Course) and participation in the Operational portion, and a copy of the textbook – “Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue (Giminez).” Lunch included all 3 days (Limit of 30 participants).

It is highly recommended by TLAER, Inc. that course attendees complete the online courses listed below prior to attending an Awareness or Operations Level Course. Online registration and certification are free through FEMA at http://www.training.fema.gov/IS/
