The John Marshall Soil & Water Conservation District, established in 1966, is one of 47 districts across the Commonwealth of Virginia that provide technical assistance and education to landowners in managing and protecting their natural resources. The District is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia focused on local soil and water conservation efforts in Fauquier County. A group of five elected and appointed members of the local community make up the Board of Directors which governs the District's operations.
Mission
Our Mission is to provide leadership, technical assistance, information, and education to the citizens of Fauquier County in proper soil stewardship, agricultural conservation methods, and water quality protection so as to ensure the wise use of the county's natural resources.
