MAY 5, 2026 — FINAL VOTE: Open Banshee Reeks Trails
This is the big one.
After 10 years of work, the Loudoun Board of Supervisors (BOS) will vote on opening 8.3 miles of existing trails at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve to equestrian use.
This proposal:
Uses existing trails only
Requires minimal impact
Has been reviewed and approved as compliant by the Virginia Outdoors Foundation
This is a thoughtful, conservation-aligned plan—and it restores access that was part of the original vision for the preserve.
But make no mistake:
Opposition is organized, vocal, and will be in the room.
We must show up stronger.
Public input begins at 6:00 PM
Vote expected around 7:00 PM (approx.)
